Abstract

Background: Hyperthermia is a potential problem for people with a fever. This condition, known as hyperthermia, occurs when a person's internal body temperature rises above 37.8°C or 38.8°C due to external influences. General Objective: To describe the results of nursing care for hyperthermia fever with the intervention of providing aloe vera therapy to reduce temperature in children with hyperthermia in the Aster Room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital. Method: This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample consisted of 5 patients with hyperthermia. The case study instrument used the SOP for administering Aloe vera compresses and observation sheets before and after therapy. Nursing Care Results: The results of the implementation carried out on 5 patients, all of whom experienced hyperthermia nursing problems and were given Aloe vera compress therapy for 10-15 minutes, after the intervention ended 15 minutes later, temperature measurements were taken using a digital thermometer using an observation sheet. After the application of therapy to 5 patients, the results showed a decrease in body temperature of 0.5°C-0.7°C, meaning that it was proven that aloe vera compresses could reduce the respondent's body temperature. Recommendation: Families are expected to understand what fever is, its signs and symptoms, and be able to apply aloe vera compresses at home if their child has a fever. Conclusion: The results of the implementation of innovative nursing actions showed a decrease in body temperature of 0.5°C-0.7°C, indicating that aloe vera compresses can lower the respondents' body temperature.
