Abstract

Background: Cancer is a disease characterized by abnormal growth in the human body. The primary complaint of cervical cancer patients is pain caused by tumor growth, which can disrupt patient comfort. One non-pharmacological treatment, the Slow-Stroke Back Massage technique, is an alternative to reduce pain. General Objective: To analyze nursing care for cervical cancer patients using the SlowStroke Back Massage technique to reduce pain levels. Method: This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The instruments used were a nursing care format, pain assessment sheet, SOP, and action observation sheet. The intervention was carried out once for three consecutive days, each lasting 10 minutes. Nursing Care Results: All five patients demonstrated a primary nursing problem of acute pain related to physiologically injurious agents. The intervention included pain management with the primary action of administering Slow-Stroke Back Massage. Implementation was carried out once for three consecutive days, with a 10-minute session. Evaluation showed that all patients experienced a decrease in pain scale from moderate to severe (4–7) to mild (1–2). These results indicate that the nursing goals for acute pain, with complaints of pain, grimacing, and restlessness decreasing, were achieved, and all indicators were achieved. Recommendation: Slow Stroke Back Massage can be implemented as a non- pharmacological therapy and has been proven to reduce pain levels in cervical cancer patients.
