Abstract

Background: The high number of cases of people with mental disorders in Kebumen Regency has resulted in the Kebumen Regency Government assigning the Kebumen Regency Social Service to establish the Dosaraso Halfway House. Based on the results of a preliminary study conducted at the Dosaraso Halfway House, various problem phenomena were found related to the rehabilitation process organized by the Dosaraso Halfway House. These phenomena are in the form of repeated events where the patient returns after being discharged. The second phenomenon is patient dependence on nurses in consuming medication. The third phenomenon is patients who do not experience changes after the rehabilitation time limit is completed. Patients do not receive optimal supervision and attention from staff so they are often neglected. Patients who do not want to take part in activities are just left and no further action is taken so that changes in patient behavior cannot be achieved until the rehabilitation time limit is complete. Research purposes: To find out an overview of the rehabilitation process for people with mental disorders (ODGJ) at the Dosaraso halfway house Kebumen district. Research methods: This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach method. The technique for determining informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this research were carried out by means of in depth interviews, participant observation and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques in this research were carried out by reducing data, presenting data (data display) and making conclusions. Research result: The rehabilitation of people with mental disorders at the Dosaraso Shelter Home is carried out by providing mental and spiritual guidance, physical guidance, social guidance and skills guidance. Conclusion: The rehabilitation process for people with mental disorders at the Dosaraso Shelter Home still has obstacles such as a lack of staff so that services are less than optimal and this has an impact on the recovery and improvement of patients' mental health. Recommendations for further research: The researcher's suggestion is that the next study should carry out research using the latest methods so that it can dig deeper into the problems that cause the large number of cases of ODGJ and the widespread recurrence of patients after treatment and rehabilitation.
