Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and peers on the saving behavior of students at Muhammadiyah Sempor Junior High School in the Academic Year 2024/2025. The background of this research is the low level of financial literacy and lack of saving habits among teenagers, especially in rural areas. This research uses a quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires. The sample consisted of 157 students selected using proportional random sampling from a population of 250 students. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that financial literacy has a positive and significant influence on students' saving behavior. Peers also have a positive and significant influence on saving behavior. Simultaneously, financial literacy and peer influence significantly affect the saving behavior of students at Muhammadiyah Sempor Junior High School. This study recommends the importance of improving financial literacy from an early age and creating a social environment that supports healthy financial behavior.
