Abstract
Background, Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has an impact on children's growth and development. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia will reach 21.6% in 2022, exceeding the WHO threshold. Kebumen 3 Community Health Center is one of the areas with a significant stunting rate, influenced by various factors, including diet. Research purposes, Quantitative research with a cross-sectional design involved 102 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data was collected through a dietary pattern questionnaire and processed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test. Stunting measurement uses Z-Score. Research result, As many as 64.7% of mothers adopted inappropriate eating patterns, with low meal frequency and lack of variety in types of food. The prevalence of stunting reached 35.3%, with a p value = 0.043 indicating a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of stunting. Conclusion, Improper eating patterns are the main factor influencing the incidence of stunting. Nutrition education and improving diet are very necessary to reduce stunting rates. Recommendation, There was a relationship between diet and the incidence of stunting at the Kebumen 3 Community Health Center.
