Abstract

Broiler chicken farming is one of the business sectors that has a high risk to occupational safety and health (K3). Risks faced in this livestock activity include exposure to dust, ammonia gas, physical injuries due to equipment, and injuries from livestock. Therefore, the implementation of an appropriate OSH management system is urgently needed to minimize potential hazards in the work environment. This study aims to design an occupational safety and health program at Alif Broiler Chicken Farm in Jatiroto Village using the HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) method. The HIRARC method is used to identify potential hazards, assess risk levels, and determine appropriate control measures. This research was conducted by identifying various risks found in the livestock environment, such as ergonomic, biological, chemical, and mechanical risks. The results show that most hazards have a moderate to high risk level, which requires stricter control measures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), increased ventilation, and regular training for workers. In conclusion, the implementation of the recommendations resulting from the HIRARC analysis is expected to reduce work accidents, improve worker health, and create a safer and more productive working environment at the Alif Broiler Chicken Farm.
