Abstract

This Academic Information System (SIMAK) is expected to provide increased effectiveness and efficiency in the field of processing, storing, presenting and summarizing information related to academic and student administration, such as processing grades, summarizing lecturers' honorariums, PDDIKTI reporting, and processing student data at the University of Muhammadiyah Gombong (UNIMUGO). Academic and student administration employees reported that SIMAK helped in the administrative service process, reduced manual data errors, and facilitated coordination between departments in the hope of improving employee performance. SIMAK functions in all matters related to academic problems on campus, which is a source of information for the entire community in the campus environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the Academic Information System (SIMAK) in an effort to improve the performance of Academic and Student Administration employees at UNIMUGO. The research approach used was descriptive qualitative, with the unit of analysis being individuals by utilizing key informants. Data analysis uses qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with key informants (head of the Academic, Student Affairs and Cooperation Bureau, Academic Section of the Rectorate and Faculty, and Student Affairs Section). The results of the study on the Implementation of SIMAK at UNIMUGO were measured using two dimensions, namely human resources and implementation of procedures. The implementation of SIMAK at UNIMUGO has been running well but still needs to be improved regarding reporting to PDDIKTI which is still manual (SIMAK cannot be synchronized directly to PDDKITI), detecting duplicate hours and days in the recapitulation of lecturers' teaching honorariums, the absence of a manual book, lack of awareness and commitment of students and employees in implementing SIMAK.
