Abstract

Background: Early marriage is a marriage carried out for couples where one of them is < 19 years old. One of the factors that influences early marriage is the parenting style of parents. Parenting style is the method or behavior that parents apply to their children. Parenting is where parents actively direct and take care of their children by meeting their needs, and directing their children in their daily lives so that they can develop into adults as expected. Objectives: To find out the description of parenting patterns with early marriage in Adimulyo district area. Methods: This research used quantitative analytical methods that applies a descriptive approach. The total sample was 50 respondents with a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out in Adimulyo district area used a questionnaire. Results: The majority of respondents were 23 years old with a percentage of 11 respondents with a percentage of (22.0%), female gender with a percentage of 38 respondents with a percentage of (76.0%), junior high school education with a percentage of 19 respondents with a percentage of (38.0%), respondents who worked as many as 29 respondents with a percentage of (58.0%). The majority with a democratic parenting style (60.0%) have a good level of parenting, the majority of parents apply an authoritarian parenting style, 8 respondents (16.0%), 12 people (24.0%) use a permissive parenting pattern. The results of the chi square test showed that the significant value was 0.000<0.05. Conclusion: The majority of families in Adimulyo district area have a democratic parenting style with a good level of parenting. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to analyze the factors that influence early marriage.
