Abstract
Background: Surgical actions including BPH TURP (Transuretral Recsection of The Prostate) method can cause nursing problems, one of which is acute pain. What if the problem of acute pain in the case of surgery is not handled adequately by the doctor, nurse, and also the family then it can cause significant discomfort. Objective: to analyze the application of finger-held relaxation techniques with pain nursing problems in patients with BPH TURP surgery. Method: This analysis uses a descriptive method in the form of a case study in 3 (three) patients. Results: Nursing problems that arise are acute pain. Intervention and implementation includes discussion of acute pain (understanding, causes, signs, and symptoms) of finger hand-held relaxation techniques. The evaluation results from the case studies of 3 (three) patients showed that acute pain in 3 (three) patients could be overcome by finger handheld technique. Recommendation: Finger hand relaxation techniques need to be applied to patients post BPH TURP surgery with acute pain problems.
