Abstract

Background:Postpartum blues is feeling sad or mournful that occur after delivery. It is usually tempory- around 2 days to 2 weeks since the baby bors. There are 322 million people of the world population suffering from depression. Southeast Asia region and Western Pacific region are the most densely populated ares that contribute to the largest depresion rate. This figure includes data of depresion sufferers from postpartum blues. Those sufferens need serious aftention if not handled properly, it will turn into postpartum depresion. Objective: To apply the parenting counceling method by whatsapp to prevent postpartum blues darng COVID-19 pandemic in Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Yustin Tresnowati, S.SiT Method: This scientific paper is a kind of case study research. data were obtained from journals, e-books and post-test only score EPDS ( Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale). Participant were 5 mothers in their third trimester pregnancy whose gestational age was 35-37 weeks who met the inclusion creteria. The research indtrument used was EPDS scale. Result: After having parenting consuleling by whatsapp in parenting blues, the psiclological condition of all participants was normal (score lest than 8). Suggestion: It is noccasary to conduc conseling by whatsapp through video call or even other eye-contact, visible posture, visible body gestures and verbal behavior concicting facial exppression, hands, shoulders, etc.
