Abstract
Background : A high level of knowledge in post partum mothers will also have high knowledge in meeting nutritional needs and good information. Many postpartum mothers abstain from food, foods that are a source of protein, limit eating soup, water and fish which should not be prohibited in the diet of postpartum mothers. Apart from that, in terms of knowledge of postpartum mothers, it is also a factor that causes food abstinence due to lack of knowledge regarding maternal nutrition during the postpartum period, such as protein which should be consumed a lot instead, only rice and fruits can be eaten. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of post partum mothers about nutrition with abstinence from food during childbirth at the area of Kebumen Community Health Center II. Metode : This study uses a correlational quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling using random sampling technique with 42 respondents. Results : The results of this study showed that the results of statistical tests showed that the level of knowledge of mothers was good, there were 36 respondents (85.7%). While the mother's level of knowledge is sufficient there are 6 respondents (14.7%). Meanwhile, data on abstinence from food from 42 respondents showed results with no abstinence as many as 25 respondents (59.5%) and abstinence from 17 respondents (40.5%). Conclusion : there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of post partum mothers about nutrition with abstinence from food during childbirth in the Pukesmas area of Kebumen 2 with pvalue (0.000) (<0.05)
