Abstract
Background, In 2020, with an increase in the number of new cases of breast cancer patients, namely around 2.26 million globally, in Indonesia the number of new cases reached 65,858 cases (16.6%). Spiritual needs related to the patient's illness can cause a decrease in quality of life and can also affect mental health if meeting these needs fails. Objective, To determine the description of the spiritual needs of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital Methods, This research used quantitative methods with a survey approach. Sampling used purposive sampling technique and obtained a sample of 63 respondents. Data collection uses the SPNQ questionnaire. Results, Results based on the characteristics of respondents at age were more than 50 years old, namely 34 respondents (53.1%), based on education, the most respondents had elementary school education, 28 respondents (43.8%), religious characteristics, all respondents were religious Islam, namely 64 respondents (100.0%), the average marital status of married respondents was 57 respondents (89.1%), the cancer stage was mostly at stage 3, namely 55 respondents (85.9%), the length of treatment The majority of patients who responded underwent treatment for <12 months with 56 respondents (87.5). Conclusion, The spiritual needs of breast cancer patients are in the very important category. Recommendation, It is hoped that further research can be carried out regarding the relationship between cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and fulfilling spiritual needs
