Abstract
Background: The incidence of uterine subinvolution that causes postpartum haemorrhage in Indonesia in 2016 amounts to 33.8% while for Central Java some 20% and Kebumen 5%. The involution of the uterus during the puerperium must proceed well so that efforts are needed to speed up the involution of the uterus, one of which consumes sweet potato leaves. Sweet potato leaves can increase milk production so that mothers are more frequent breastfeeding so that the hormone oxytocin increases. An increase in the hormone oxytocin may decrease the height of the uterine fundus. Therefore, the authors are interested to apply the consumption of sweet potato leaves to accelerate the involution of the uterus. Objective: To apply the consumption of sweet potato leaf vegetable to accelerate the involution of the uterus in the puerperal mother at BPM Sri Sudarsih. Research Method: The researcher uses analytical descriptive method with case study approach. In this case the author describes the facts of the assessment obtained from interviews, direct observation, and documented. This application involved 5 participants as a case study. The study was conducted from May 22 - June 8, 2017. Results: Respondents with High Fundus Uteri (TFU) after birth were 1 Finger under the center (60%) and 2 fingers below the center (40%). Respondent with High Fundus Uteri (TFU) 7 days after birth was 1 finger on symphysis (40%), not palpable (40%), and 2 fingers on symphysis (20%). Conclusion: Application of sweet potato leaf vegetable consumption to effectively accelerate uterine involution in puerperal mother at BPM Sri Sudarsih
