Abstract
Background: Democratic leadership style is leadership that respects the behavior and abilities of each member and promotes the ideas of each group. Performance is effort (activity) plus work results. Democratic leadership style can affect nurse performance. Purpose: To find out the relationship between the head of the room's democratic leadership style and the performance of inpatient nurses at Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This type of research is a quantitative correlation with cross sectional (cross approach). The research instrument used a questionnaire on democratic leadership style and nurse performance. The number of samples is 53 respondents. Data analysis uses Kendall Tau Result: Based on the statistical test with the Kendall Tau test, the correlation coefficient is 0.548 with p = 0.000. Because the value of p <0.05 then Ha is accepted. Conclusion: These results indicate that the democratic leadership style of the head of the room is related to the performance of inpatient nurses. Recommendation: The researcher hopes that future researchers can deepen this research using different methods such as qualitative so that triangulation can be carried out to find out in depth between democratic leadership style and nurse performance.
