Abstract
Background: Bullying is a situation involving harassment, coercion, hazing, extortion, exclusion, or intimidation that can occur either deliberately or spontaneously, visibly or covertly. As a result, victims may feel oppressed, weak, fearful, and threatened. Approximately 32% of students report experiencing bullying in educational environments and on social media. Self-confidence refers to a person's belief in their abilities, enabling them to act without anxiety. Objective: To examine the relationship between bullying behavior and selfconfidence among students at Achmad Affandi Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School, Sempor. Method: This study used a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 55 respondents participated, and data was collected using a questionnaire. Statistical analysis was conducted using Kendall’s Tau test. Results: The study found that 30 respondents (54.5%) experienced moderate levels of bullying, while 28 respondents (50.9%) had a moderate level of self-confidence. The Kendall’s Tau correlation test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between bullying behavior and self-confidence. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between bullying behavior and selfconfidence among students at Achmad Affandi Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School. Recommendation: Future research should explore other factors that may influence self-confidence, such as family support or social environment
